Maria Del Busto is the Chief Executive Officer for Del Busto Platinum Enterprise, a consulting firm that specializes in Human Capital; Real Estate Entrepreneurship, Investments & Operations excellence. She is a seasoned thought leader with global HR, finance and business leadership experience.
Prior to the consulting/investment firm, Del Busto was the Global Chief Human Resources Officer (GCHRO) for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL), the second largest vacation cruise company in the world. She lead the Company’s Global Human Resources function serving over 67,000 employees worldwide, as well as lead the centralized Shipboard Crew Planning and Scheduling function for 6 brands. She spent 15 years at RCL developing and implementing a world class HR & Human Capital Operational organization, “Where Great Vacations Begin with Great Employees”. She placed an emphasize on Culture; Leadership Development; Organizational Performance Metrics; and Highly Employee Engagement programs, which all lead to organizational profitability & the highest guest satisfaction in the industry. She worked on various mergers & acquisitions and represented the cruise industry in several international projects.
In addition to RCL, Del Busto held leadership roles with other reputable private & public organizations such as: Fortis Corporation, a global insurance, banking and investment group; John Alden Financial Corporation; Federal Reserve Bank; Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical System, and other firms in the service, financial and technology industries.
Del Busto obtained an Associate in Arts degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Psychology, from Miami Dade College; a Bachelors of Art degree in Business Administration, Human Resources and Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, as well as various accredited certifications. She has received numerous professional and executive recognition awards for her leadership and HR expertise, some of which include: 2007 & 2010 South Florida Good to Great Awards; 2008 Excellence in Human Resources Executive Award; 2010 Top 25 Most Influencing Business Women in South Florida Award; 2011 Investment In People Award by Global SeaTrade for the unique “Building on Talent” leadership development programs created for RCL; 2012 Glass Ceiling Award from the National Diversity Council; a recipient of the 2012 Miami Dade College Hall of Fame, Listed as #13 of “40 Best Global Companies For Leaders" in the 2013 Chief Executive; 2013 South Florida’s Best Places to Work; and 2012 - 2014 Achievers 50 Most Engaged WorkPlace.
Del Busto has delivered numerous Global HR leadership presentations to various conference groups, such as: US Conference Board; Toronto Conference Board; Global HR Summits; International Labour Organization under the United Nations in Geneva; Achievers Annual Engagement Conferences; and Society of Human Resources Management chapters. She served in various non-profit organizational boards including: Florida International University’s Foundation; YWCA of Miami; Dress/Suited for Success; United Way of Dade County, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce; the Common Wealth Institute; and was nominated in 2011 to become a member of the International Women’s Forum, a global leadership network of preeminent women.
